I only recently joined FWCC in early August 2023, with no prior experience in distance running or track whatsoever. I had no intention of joining track, but after my NAPFA 2.4km last year, I realised I had a talent for running. 

My good friend Haley introduced me to FWCC soon after and I went to my first training completely unprepared for what was waiting for me. When I told the coach that I was a distancer, he had to ask again to make sure I was not mistaken.

I joined FWCC in 2023 at the time after my NSG, together with my teammates from SJI Cayden and Chi Rey, we started training under coach fabian on tuesdays and thursdays. This was the first time I was training as part of a seperate club as compared to school training, and I can easily say I enjoy it so much more. The vibes and atmosphere in training has a balance of relaxation as well as seriousness as I am able to come training feeling peaceful and still work very hard in training.

I officially joined FWCC in June 2023 to better my timings and improve my standings in the school games which is currently one of the key nation wide competitions for students that take place every year. After a year of being with FWCC, I have found that I have not only embarked on a journey of timings and results. But mentally, I have grown stronger from when I first joined FWCC and made several friendships that I will cherish forever.

Going all the way back to when I first joined FWCC, I initially did feel a little fearful

Under FWCC's guidance, I've seen significant improvements in my running mechanics and race times, particularly in duathlon events. The emphasis on form, speed sessions, and mobility drills has enhanced my overall athletic ability, reflecting in stronger performances and personal bests.

Looking ahead, I aspire to compete on larger international stages such as the Sea Games and transition into Ironman competitions as well as marathons in the coming years.

I started training as a mid-distance runner in May 2024 with FWCC after a two-year break from training and competing. My focus is on mid-distance events like the 800m and 1500m, and I've been competing in track since Secondary 1. Coming back from a two-year hiatus was tougher than I expected. There were many moments when I doubted my decision to continue in this sport and considered quitting altogether.

Since joining FWCC, I have achieved a personal best of 11.07s in the 100m sprint, 22.77s in the 200m sprint, and 52.89s in the 400m sprint.

The FWCC training has been very enjoyable and caters to the needs of the athletes. The workouts are different every training to ensure that we work on the various aspects such as endurance, speed, strength and technique that is essential to improve.

Since joining FWCC, I have managed to achieve a personal best of 11.68s in the 100M sprint.

The FWCC trainings have always been extremely focused and well-organized. We are divided into groups based on the events we participate in and the type of workout that will best enhance our physical development. The workouts are varied weekly to ensure comprehensive training for endurance, speed, and technique.

I joined FWCC when I was 10. My siblings were both already in track and field, and I would feel left out whenever they started talking about events and competitions. It was like there was an invisible barrier between us. After being told I had the potential for track, along with not wanting to feel left out, I joined FWCC. I did not plan to start track competitively at first. It was my brother that participated in competitions while my sister and I joined to stay fit.

When I was 11, I transferred to track in school.

I joined track because I wanted to share something in common with my brother. My brother joined track at primary three, and he seemed to enjoy it a lot. I have always enjoyed running and sports — a passion that was cultivated since we were young when my father made us run around the track to get breakfast — thus, when the CCA selection rolled about, I made the decision to join track.
